Service

SpeakLocal is a macOS app that converts speech to text locally on your Mac and inserts the text into the active text field. It requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or newer.

Free trial

You can use SpeakLocal free for 30 days, without payment details. After the trial, dictation only works once you have bought a license.

License and price

A license is a one-time payment. It is not a subscription and does not renew. The price is shown on the pricing section and includes VAT. The license is for one Mac and includes updates of SpeakLocal. Payment is handled by Mollie B.V.; we never see your card or bank details.

Delivery

SpeakLocal is delivered digitally. Right after your payment is confirmed, the app on your Mac unlocks automatically. You also receive a confirmation email.

Right of withdrawal

You may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days after buying, without giving a reason. To do so, reply to your purchase confirmation email or email hello@upassist.com. You can use this model form: “I hereby notify you that I withdraw from my contract for SpeakLocal. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [name]. Email used for the purchase: [email].” We refund the full amount within 14 days after your withdrawal, using the payment method you paid with. After the refund, the license ends.

Moving to a new Mac

A license is bound to one Mac. You can move it to a new Mac yourself, using the link in your purchase confirmation email. This is possible once every 30 days.

Liability

SpeakLocal is provided with reasonable care, but transcriptions can contain errors. Check important text before you use it. UpAssist is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect transcriptions, and, to the extent the law allows, its liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence remains unaffected. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
